Stampin Up truly grateful tag & notecard

Here's the fabulous Stampin Up Truly Grateful stamp set in another guise - embossed and combined with some glass glitter!

The card and tag were made for my friend Nicky who helped me out on the Pinkies blog hop weekend when I woke up in Paris in sheer panic that I hadn't published my YouTube video on how to make handmade flowers from ribbon and paper! (And if you are curious - here's the original blog post .. http://vintage-celebrations.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/pinkies-blog-hop-autumn-inspired.html

The tag is cut from Naturals Ivory card which I've sponged with Soft Suede ink around the edges to give it a more weathered look. I used the small heart punch to thread the crumb cake ribbon through and then stamped multiple images of the tree trunk from the Truly Grateful set onto the card in Versamark before covering them with Early Espresso embossing powder and then heat setting with the Stampin up heat tool.

The sentiment is stamped onto a modern label punched piece of card. I've used the new Baked Brown sugar ruffle ribbon to create the rolled flower set with a basic pearl and the leaf is cut in champagne glimmer paper with the Autumn Accents die which really comes into its own at this time of year!

I also made a little notecard in similar style using Gorgeous Grunge & champagne glass glitter which is held in place with Sticky Strip.

Pretty jam & preserves gift packaging ideas

Something pretty for you if you're canning or baking this weekend - jam & preserve packaging ideas!

I made some Victoria plum jam yesterday with some plums straight from my mothers garden - can't beat home grown produce :) As I made a few jars I thought it would be a nice treat to give some away - but felt the urge to pretty up the jam jar beforehand ;)

Using some retired Stampin Up fabric I cute circles with my Stampin Up scallop circle die and then tied these onto the jars with twine. Using my blossom punch I made a layered flower out of This is Me designer series paper which matched the colourscheme on the fabrics - can't beat a bit of product coordination and that's Stampin Up's unique selling point!

A tea doily, a decorative label using sweetly framed and some hand cut banners and the jar was ready to go.

Oh and here is the actual  jam  ;) just look at all that fruit!

Talking of delicious jam, when reading last months Country Living magazine I read an article on an artisan jam company - JamSmith, owned by the lovely Vicky Smith who handmakes jam, jellies, marmalade, fruit butters & preserves from her home in the Yorkshire Dales.

Test

Duly curious, I signed up for a one month trial and was bowled over by two glorious pots in the post of the most delicious jam concoctions -  Citrus Blueberry, Damson & Plum & Yorkshire Redcurrant & Bramley Apple. Now having 4 young girls and a husband to feed I decided these jams were too good to waste on untrained pallettes and as such I had to keep them all for myself ;) and am eagerly awaiting next months pots already!

Test

If you'd like to find out more or have a try contact Vicky at vicky@jamsmith.co.uk or check out her website at http://www.jamsmith.co.uk - you won't be disappointed :)

In view of the fact there are now only 12 weeks until Christmas I've broken out the glitter on tomorrows project - not Christmas crafting just yet - but a bit of glitter will always be a great start to the week!

Stampin Up sweetly framed thank you card

Fingers crossed I'm not spoiling a surprise this morning! This is a little card I made for my Stampin Up friend Michelle who has given me invaluable advice recently regarding my Stampin Up endeavours!

One of the key traits I love about Stampin Up demonstrators is the friendship & support that Stampin Up'ers(!) offer each other - just like an extended family :) not to mention the 20% product discounts, sneak peeks of new catalogues, online forums & the sharing of creativity that being part of Stampin Up also offers! If you'd like to know more about the benefits of joining Stampin Up then have a look here ... http://vintage-celebrations.blogspot.co.uk/p/join-my-team.html

Back to today's project ...

This card started out very differently design wise in my head but somehow morphed into this pretty little thank you card - I knew I wanted to use pink & gold embossing as they are so delicate and striking together but the rest of the card just flowed from there!

I've used Best of Flowers stamp set for the hand cut flowers and the butterflies from Papillon Potpurri which ere punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch - both on 15% discount as a bundle together until 30th Sept - order yours today!

The ornate sentiment is from the gorgeous Sweetly Framed hostess set and punched with the decorative label punch - I've overlaid the label with a modern label stamped from Sweetly Framed as well.

Can you see the background stamping? Gorgeous Grunge stamps make an re-appearance as my must have, reach for stamp set of the season as does one of my all time favourites the Very Vintage jumbo stampin wheel - so pretty as a background stamp and so often overlooked!

Stampin Up punch art inchie card for Isla

It was my daughter Izzy's friend Isla's birthday at the weekend; I love creating handmade personalised cards & gifts for friends & family with Stampin Up products - it makes them just that little bit more special as keepsakes I think!

This card was super quick using a variety of Stampin Up punches - can you guess how many?

Did you guess correctly? I used 6 different punches:
  • Postage stamp punch 122344 £14.25
  • 1" Square punch 124094 £14.25
  • Small heart punch 117193 £5.75
  • Bird builder punch 117191 £15.50
  • Boho blossoms punch 119858 £15.50
  • Elegant Butterfly punch £127526 £14.25 (or 15% discount when bought with Papilliuon Potpourri stamps!)

I've used Strawberry Slush core'dinations card as my background - this card is great for distressing by sanding for a more vintage look :) I then punched postage stamp squares from naturals ivory card and sponge daubed the edges in Strawberry Slush ink. I then layered the punched 1" square over the top and sponged the edges as well.

The letters were stamped using the Morning Post alphabet set in the pretty colours of blushing bride, pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe & soft sky.

I then punched out the different shapes in coordinating colour papers including Venetian Romance & Sweater Weather with a few basic rhinestones to finish!

The girls went to a swimming party to celebrate Islas birthday - and came back laden with party gifts of beach bag, flip flops and other accessories! Roll on next years holidays!

Pop back tomorrow for a peek at some Autumn glitter & glamour :)

Stampin Up sweater weather hand rolled flower & gift bow bigz gift box

Quick gift wrap idea for you this morning using the new Stampin Up Gift Bow Bigz Die - guaranteed instant prettiness to any package or parcel! This product is going to be getting a lot of use over the next few months in preparation for a handmade Stampin Up Christmas!

This little box of delectable macaroons came directly from Paris where we stayed last weekend for a mini break :) and the gift was destined for my one of my best friends Karen who had the girls for me after school whilst we were away.

My hand rolled paper flowers are really simple - take a square of paper and cut as large a circle into it as you would like, then simply cut a wavy spiral into the paper and then roll from the paper from the end to the centre, keeping it tight and then glue down either with sticky strip or hot glue to secure. You can see my video tutorial here for more in-depth details ...

And here's more of those delightful little treats! Mouthwatering, don't you agree!
