Stampin Up handmade gifts, decor & accessories weekly roundup

We're putting up our Christmas tree & decorations this weekend as well as dusting our Elf on the Shelf book down and planning what antics our Alf the Elf is going to be up to over the next few weeks - the girls love the excitement of looking for him every morning and seeing what he's been up to overnight (and despite being a 40+ mother of four I love the planning his escapades ;)

Anway, here's this weeks round-up of my Stampin Up handmade gift, decor & accessory projects created to showcase Stampin Up products in action. In case you missed any of them just click on the links below!   Hope you enjoy browsing & please leave me a comment to let me know what's your favourite!

Handmade christmas Stampin Up UK receipt / ticket wallet holder & photo tutorial

With Christmas coming do you end up with a disorganised purse full of receipts, vouchers and loyalty cards? Here's an idea to keep them all in one place and easy to find if required ...

I found the tutorial in an old paper craft magazine - it was very simple to make! Simply cut a rectangle of card and score equally in 2 places and then score a smaller panel which will make the fold-over front part.

Using the same colour card cut two smaller rectangles and concertina fold them - stick these to the middle panels of the previous folded rectangle, then secure to the left hand card panel. this will give you the slots inside to pop your tickets/receipts into.

Cut a strip of card, round the corners and secure to the back of the wallet leaving a small lip hanging over the front to slot into the fastening which is made from a small, thin rectangular piece secured either side with brads.

I've added a Stampin Up antique brad onto my strip to look like a closure stud which has been hidden from the inside with a crumb cake seam binding rolled ribbon flower. If you look closely you may also see the paper piercing/faux stitching :)

If you'd like to add a few notes/reminders pages, cut some more rectangles of card and slip them into the holder. Decorate all panels with your choice of patterned paper - I've used Stampin Up sweater weather designer series paper for mine.

Decorated pocket tissue box tutorial

We're a little under the weather here at Vintage Towers this week - the winter bugs have begun and we're dosed up with cold & flu remedies. Not to mention shopping for tissues galore!

For those of you that know me well you'll know nothing escapes a little decoration in my house, so I've made these for the girls for their school bags to brighten their cold days ...

I found the tutorial on pinterest here and used Stampin Up's Soho Subway paper teamed with Summer Starfruit cardstock.

The ruffled flower on top was made by punching out crumb cake cardstock with the blossom punch then sponging around the edges with soft suede ink, scrunching up and fixing together with a silver brad. To see more handmade flower tutorials take a look at my recent video tutorial.

To order any of todays supplies click on the image below to pop over to my secure online shopping site to place your order!

Whilst surfing the internet I came across this fabulous post by A Thrifty Mrs full of tips on surviving colds and flu on a budget - it even contains tissue recommendations! See you at Aldi then ;)

Simple white christmas stamped & decorated candle votives gift box

Dreaming of a white light Christmas? Here's a simple decoration idea to turn plain white votive candles into a great gift...

One of Stampin Up's often overlooked products is the vellum cardstock, an opaque white card which can be embossed, stamped on, shaped and cut. I used it a week or so ago on my vintage style recycled tin can candle holder project.

I've stamped onto the vellum with white Stazon ink using the Everything Eleanor stamp set which is full of lovely vintage style stamp images. A tea lace doily, linen thread and some vintage buttons and brads complete the timeless elegant look.

And how about this for a perfect gift box to fit the candles? Stampin Up's tag a box gift box is a lovely plain kraft gift box with an acetate slip cover so contents can still be seen inside.

All the supplies can be purchased through my online Stampin store which is open for business 24/7!

These lovely scented glass votives were from Laura Ashley but you can pick them up almost anywhere nowadays - although my current firm favourite is the Salted Caramel yankee candles which are on my wish list for Christmas! What's your favourite candle scent?

Stampin Up UK Vintage style wine glass lampshades for Thanksgiving & Christmas table settings

A super cute, quick & easy & inexpensive table dressing to start the week off  - these sweet little wine glass lampshades can brighten and dress up any table setting and can be customised to suit the occasion or theme!

Simply take a piece of double sided thick patterned paper - I've used Stampin Up's Modern Medley paper which is a great set of various double sided monochrome designs - and make a cone wide enough at the bottom to slot over a wine or champagne glass, secure the sides then cut the pointy end of the cone off and decorate!

Monochrome is really HOT at the moment and is one of my favourite colour combos for table settings - so clean, elegant & eye catching.

I finished the lampshades with some crochet victoria trim and some silver stampin glass glitter - see a previous post on decorating with stampin glass glitter here.

These little baubles are actually table place settings - they are straight from Jeanne de l'arc my favourite interiors inspiration. The lovely Sue from West Barn Country Interiors pointed me in their direction and I had to have them instantly!

When your celebration is over, the lampshades simply stack away ready for next time - or I could repurpose them - any ideas?

Stampin Up's modern medley paper, crochet trim & glass glitter can all be found in my online store - why not treat your wine glasses to a lampshade this season :)

See you tomorrow!

No cutting required 12" x 12" Stampin Up UK origami folding christmas gift box

Today's project is a really clever little box made from 1 sheet of 12" x 12" patterned paper - no cutting required! I got the idea from the talented France Martin on her Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie blog. Come and take a look ...

They  look pretty innocuous from the outside, heh? But slip off the decorative band, lay out flat and open ...

Cool huh? That's the beauty of Stampin Up double sided designer series paper - it's patterned on both sides :)

The size is just perfect to hold a candle, pretty box or tin of treats or another gift - and best of all when the packaging is finished with it can be unfolded and used for another project :)

The flower embellishment is also easy to make using the Stampin Up Blossom punch - simply punch out several blossom shapes out of card, sponge the edges with a contrasting ink, scrunch them together then gently unfold and secure together in centre with a brad, ruffling and re-position the layers as you go.
